The successful candidate will teach three class sections (12 contact hours per semester), hold office hours, advise majors and undeclared students, and serve the University through committee work. Teaching responsibilities will include GEOL 231 Environmental Geology, EASC 131 Conversations with the Earth (a general education class on Earth's climate history and future), and one other class to be determined from a range of Physics and Earth Science courses including Meteorology, Oceanography, Astronomy and Physics. The successful candidate will also be expected to design and implement a new Field Methods class, appropriate for our Earth Science majors, and majors in allied Environmental Science and Policy program.
Candidates must have at least an M.S. in Geology, Geochemistry, Geophysics or a closely related field at the time of hire, and undergraduate teaching experience.
A Ph.D. in Geology, Geochemistry, Geophysics or a closely related field at the time of hire. Substantial undergraduate teaching experience, and excellent teaching skills. A commitment to diversity in Earth Science education.
