The Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Department of Geology and Environmental Science at the University of Pittsburgh are seeking a shared Fiscal Administrator. The Fiscal Administrator position will be primarily responsible for the management and reconciliation of all hard and soft money (non-sponsored research) accounts held by the two departments, as well as the management and oversight of both the purchasing, travel, and business reimbursement functions in the two departments.
This position will directly supervise two other staff positions: a Buyer and a Travel and Business Coordinator. This position will be responsible for creating and supplying complex fiscal reports, including budgetary forecasts, related to the various accounts for which they are responsible. Additionally, the Fiscal Administrator will create and/or modify internal procedures related to purchasing and travel and business expense reimbursements to ensure optimal operational efficiencies are met across the two departments.
The incumbent must be proficient with the Microsoft Office platform software. Experience using programs such as PantherExpress, PRISM, and ITWorks is greatly preferred.

The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills (both oral and written), organizational skills, and be both comfortable with and proficient in the use of computers (i.e. Microsoft Office software, e-mail, electronic calendars, web content management programs). Familiarity with the University's PRISM system and programs such as ITWorks and PantherExpress would be extremely beneficial.
