The Geology Department at Washington and Lee University, Lexington, VA seeks applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position for the 2018-19 academic year with the potential for renewal.
The position is open to all geoscience disciplines, although preference may be given to someone who could teach field geophysics and/or planetary geology at the introductory level. Courses taught by the visitor will include Physical Geology, and other courses at the introductory or advanced level as appropriate for our curriculum.
W&L is a nationally ranked, highly selective liberal arts college. The Department (geology.wlu.edu) has excellent facilities and resources, makes great use of the Appalachians in field courses and labs, and is a member of the Keck Geology Consortium.
