POSITION: The School of Integrative Plant Science at Cornell University (http://sips.cals.cornell.edu ) invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in Plant Biodiversity/Phylodiversity, with an emphasis on global-level studies. The successful candidate is expected to develop an internationally-recognized and well-funded research program that integrates knowledge obtained utilizing various experimental and computational approaches and/or collection based data to the study of plant biodiversity, including phylogenetics, molecular genetics, bioinformatics, and environmental niche modeling. Possible research areas include, but are not limited to, species- and clade-level response to environmental and biotic factors, especially in the context of global climate change; the role of climate/environment in the generation, maintenance, or degradation of plant biodiversity; the role of phylogenetic pattern in plant evolutionary response to the environment; and development of models or computational methodologies using distributional, genomic, or geologic metadata. An ability to leverage existing strengths at Cornell, including Cornell's extensive collections, and a willingness to engage in collaborations with Plant Science faculty is essential. QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Biology, Plant Biology, Bioinformatics, or related disciplines. The candidate must be able to work in a multi‐disciplinary and multi‐cultural setting and create a collegial professional environment. Well‐qualified applicants are expected to have a demonstrated record of publication excellence, and preferred qualifications include postdoctoral experience, ability to work with a team, and ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

ACADEMIC RANK AND SALARY: Assistant/Associate Professor (tenure track) with salary competitive with peer institutions and commensurate with background and experience.
