The Oklahoma Geological Survey is accepting applications for a Senior Petroleum Geologist, with a Master's degree in Geological Sciences (Ph.D. preferred) and at least 8 years of experience relevant to Oklahoma.
The successful candidate will be expected to work independently to:
Investigate petroleum-producing areas in Oklahoma
Grow an externally funded research program
Present and publish research findings
Mentor junior staff and students
Provide technical assistance to stakeholders.
The successful candidate must have:
Background in geology of reservoirs in clastic and carbonate strata
Expertise in well-log interpretation and subsurface geologic mapping
Understanding of depositional systems, facies, and rock types from outcrops, core, and cuttings
Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in office- and industry-standard software
Willingness to utilize ArcGIS
