About the Position
The College of Science and Engineering is currently seeking a permanent, full-time, 11-month Communications Consultant position in the CSE Dean's office. Being a member of our team will offer creative and administrative opportunities to advance the mission of the college in serving the science and engineering needs of Washington State and the global community by advancing scholarship and educating thoughtful leaders and problem solvers.
The CSE Communications Consultant provides creative design and direction for all Dean’s office communication platforms including: website, social media, print media, direct communications, and through events and programs to support the goals and initiatives of the college as well as providing general administrative office support.

Position Responsibilities: As part of this position, you will be responsible for:
Coordinating and implementing communications and marketing for CSE on multiple platforms including website, social media, print advertising, and publications
Designing and producing graphic projects such as publications, brochures, posters, educational information and materials, logos, advertisements, maps, Internet materials, videos, and other illustrative materials
Coordinating various CSE events and programs such as speaker series, development related events and fundraising initiatives, and other events sponsored by the college
Providing administrative support for dean’s office general needs and particularly for the CSE STEM Inclusion and Outreach Specialist, including workshop series, web, and advertising support
Fulfilling all job responsibilities in ways that support an equitable and inclusive environment for colleagues and students
Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in a business or higher education environment OR equivalent education/experience
Demonstrated professional experience in creating graphics for publications using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop or related graphics programs. Application process may require candidates to provide samples of previously created graphic design work.
Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining customized Drupal and/or WordPress websites
Experience in creating content for, and managing, multiple social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc) for a business, education, non-profit, or similar organization
Experience in producing copy for digital and written business, education, or nonprofit organizations
Ability to perform clerical skills required for this position, including sufficient experience with Microsoft Office to perform routine tasks required of an office assistant
Ability to work independently, prioritize daily work tasks, and work with communications and other professionals across the University to complete work assignments
Excellent communication skills and an ability to establish and maintain a friendly, cooperative team environment with an inclusive group of students, faculty and staff
Demonstrated ability to employ discretion in communication and maintain confidentiality
Experience with Adobe Suite and R Shiny
Experience with Access or other database management systems
Advanced experience in Excel, Word, and Outlook
Experience with Banner and Millennium FAST
Starting salary $3,948.00 per month.
This position is part of bargaining unit PT and is covered by the collective bargaining agreement with the Public School Employees.
