POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Services Project Manager to join our team of professionals in any one of our Texas offices (two Austin offices, two Houston offices, and two San Antonio offices). The Environmental Services Project Manager will contribute technically in the areas of multimedia environmental compliance including environmental permitting, environmental audits, soil and groundwater investigation, stormwater and wastewater plans, as well as supporting additional environmental multimedia regulatory initiatives in support of client objectives.
The successful “seller / doer” candidate will manage client relationships, prepare proposals, and manage projects and project teams and develop new business opportunities. Additionally, candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Proven business development abilities
Manage small to large projects and project teams
Communicate effectively and professionally with project staff, clients, resource agencies and sub-consultants concerning project purpose
Perform a variety of environmental projects related to compliance with local, state or federal regulations which may include:
Develop various reports required by regulations or permit conditions for submittal to regulatory agencies
Prepare process descriptions and process flow diagrams (drawings
Complete environmental permit applications and supporting documentation
Develop tools for achieving compliance with regulations and permit conditions
Lead environmental audits of industrial facilities
Assist in the preparation of Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans
Communicate scientific, technical, and/or regulatory information through oral briefings and written documents
Prepare or modify standard operating procedures for plant personnel responsible for environmental compliance
Identify applicable environmental regulations for industrial sources
Analyze the impact of a new or proposed regulation for a particular industry
Travel in and out of state up to 25% of the time
Perform a variety of environmental tasks related to assisting clients’ compliance with local, state or federal regulations
Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and Management, Environmental Engineering or related engineering field, Geology or related technical field
Ten to fifteen (10-15) + years’ diverse experience. Specific experience should include:
Interpret stormwater and wastewater regulations and apply to project needs including plan or permit preparation
Interpret RCRA and state-equivalent regulations and apply to client needs
Multimedia environmental compliance experience
Multimedia environmental investigation experience
Correspondence with clients, LDEQ, LOSCO, TCEQ, TRCC, and other agencies
Proven communication skills (verbal, written, proposal and presentation)
Proven business development skills
Working experience within the oil and gas, municipal, and aggregate sectors is a plus.
Working experience developing Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures Plans
Successful completion of projects following state risk-based investigation / cleanup program requirements
Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering or related engineering field, Geology or related technical field
Registration as a Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist is desired
