The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences is seeking a Facilities Planner. Main responsibilities include assisting with strategic and operational planning for more than 30 on and off-campus facilities in the College of Arts of Sciences with a focus on the Slone Research Building (SRB); provide support to the College Safety Officer in the areas of safety and crisis/emergency management associated with the SRB; serve as the focal point for shipping and receiving operations in the SRB; work with instructors and teaching assistants to prepare materials for laboratory exercises and develop new laboratory exercises; maintain labs, lab materials, and storage; maintain field instruments; oversee maintenance of department field vehicles; assist faculty and teaching assistants with teaching laboratory instrumentation; manage the instructional computer laboratory to assist students and faculty with the use of databases and specialized graphics unique to geological sciences; and complete all required actions and maintain close coordination with the College inventory personnel to ensure timely/accurate completion of the SRB's annual space, equipment, and vehicle inventories, and assist with inventories in other areas of the College as needed.
