Salary Range: $32,115.20 to $34,236.80 USD/Year
High school graduate/GED with some courses in Geology or related discipline and experience in a laboratory setting, including experience keeping accurate and detailed laboratory notes. Driver's license is required.
The majority of the work in this position is performed in a lab setting. Some tasks require standing at a fume hood for 8 hours a day, 2-3 times per week. Must be able to use a microscope for a few hours at a time. Position requires ability to pick up, carry and/or backpack a maximum of 50 lbs alone. Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping are all required activities. The worker will be exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions, and chemical and physical hazards.
Two years of experience in relevant academics; work experience may be substituted. Familiarity of lacustrine environments. Experience with basic database entry.
Demonstrated ability in written and spoken language. Proven ability to follow through and accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and schedules. Detail oriented. Proven ability to read and carry out simple written instructions.
Demonstrated ability to count and make simple arithmetic additions and subtractions.
