The primary responsibility of a faculty member at Northern Virginia Community College shall be to provide quality instruction for the students. The major emphasis on excellent teaching by working with students in classrooms, laboratories, individual conferences, and related activities. Full-time faculty help students develop their interests and abilities to their fullest capacity to become better workers and better citizens.
Description of Duties and Tasks:
This position is responsible for teaching Environmental Science lectures and labs, advising students, and participating on committees and other campus and college-wide activities. If qualified, may teach Biology or Geology courses when needed.
Minimum Qualifications :
Master's degree in Environmental Science or master's with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching field.
Doctoral degree in Environmental Science or in addition to a master’s degree in Environmental Science, a candidate with 18 graduate semester hours in Biology or Geology. College level teaching experience and/or relevant work experience. Ability to use instructional technologies.
