Geology & Geography - Adjunct Pool

The Department of Earth Environment and Physics seeks qualified individuals to join our adjunct hiring pool to be considered for future, part-time teaching assignments at Worcester State. Primary needs are instructors for; Introductory Physical Geology (with Lab), Environmental Science, Physical Geography, World Regional Geology and Human Geography. There are both day and evening opportunities. We offer degrees in Geography and Environmental Science. Course Descriptions: GS 140 Physical Geology Introduction to geological science: rocks and minerals, internal and external geologic processes, topographic map and air photo analysis, local field study. Three lecture hours and two laboratory hours per week. GS 101 Physical Geography Introduction to earth systems and processes. Characteristics and distribution of landforms, climates, water, soils, plants and animals. GE 102 Human Geography Introduction to human geography, emphasizing globalization, human-environment relations and spatial patterns of population, development, economics, politics, urbanization and culture. GE 110 World Regional Geography I Analysis of the physical, cultural and economic regions of Eurasia. GE 111 World Regional Geography II Analysis of the physical, cultural and economic regions of Africa, Oceania and the Americas. Adjunct faculty postings are for potential part-time, non-benefited, teaching positions during the 2020-2021 academic year. Applicants for adjunct positions will not be notified of their status unless they are contacted by the department chair or their designee.
