The Department of Earth Sciences may have positions available (contingent upon funding) for a Post-doctoral Associate to work with faculty members and their research groups. Faculty research specialties within the department include but are not limited to geochemistry, paleomagnetism, Quaternary sciences, sedimentology, petrology, hydrogeology, geomicrobiology, structural geology, geophysics, rock physics and rheology. Before applying, it is highly recommended for interested persons to review faculty members' web pages for individual research interests and to directly contact faculty members with whom they wish to work. www.esci.umn.edu/people/faculty Post-doctoral associates work with faculty members and their research groups to conduct research that will provide further development of career skills or allows them opportunities to learn new research techniques. Post-doctoral associates may supervise research assistants and laboratory personnel. The post-doctoral position is limited to a period of three years, with possibility of extenstion up to five depending on training needs. Positions may become available during the 2020-21 fiscal year.
