Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) is seeking qualified faculty for a full-time position in Environmental Science Technology. BCTC seeks faculty who value the academic success of their students and who love to teach. The primary teaching responsibility will be Environmental Science core courses and associated labs but may also include other classes taught within the geology, biology, or chemistry areas depending upon the successful candidate's qualifications. Previous experience teaching at the college level is preferred. This position requires flexibility of scheduling which may include evenings and weekends on a variety of campuses as well as online instruction. This position is a 10-month faculty position working from August to May each academic year.
Teach transferable, non-majors/majors environmental sciences lectures and laboratories.
Teach non-transferable technical lectures and laboratory courses in environmental science technology program, including conducting field work at off campus sites.
Order, prepare, set up, and break down laboratory materials for environmental science technology labs.
Develop syllabi, course materials, exams, etc.
Use computer technology in lecture and laboratory instruction to enhance student learning.
Work closely with environmental sciences faculty and staff.
Assist part-time instructors and substitutes for absent instructors as needed.
Adhere to all institutional policies and procedures.
Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:
Associate's degree in Environmental Science Technology and two years of relevant work experience or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science Technology.
Master's degree or higher preferred.
