Job Description: The Louisiana Geological Survey at the Louisiana State University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor, Research in its Geologic Mapping and Mineral Resources section. This position focuses on the documentation, analysis, and interpretation of Cenozoic geology and geomorphology of the state. Topics of investigation include updating of stratigraphic correlations and nomenclature, studies of sedimentology and subsurface facies architecture, sedimentary petrology and provenance, structural geology, and Tertiary-Quaternary sedimentary sequences of the Lower Mississippi Embayment, Gulf Coastal Plain, and the active Mississippi Delta.
