The Department of Applied Physics at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering invites applications for a part-time, non-tenured instructor, from September 1, 2022 to December 22, 2022.
The department of Applied Physics offers BS degrees in Applied Physics and Math & Physics. In addition, it runs introductory courses which service several of the engineering programs in the school. It also offers several upper-level electives for both majors and nonmajors.
Qualifications
We invite applicants to teach one undergraduate course. In particular, we presently seek instructors for PH-UY 2823: Geology and Geophysics (an introduction to physical geology, familiarizing students with basic geological processes, and emphasizing the interdisciplinary interactions involved). You should be an excellent teacher. You should have a Ph.D. in Geophysics, Geology, or a closely related discipline and a record of teaching experience in these areas. Candidates with a Master’s Degree and a strong teaching record at the college level or active industrial practice also will be considered.
