The New Mexico Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources (NMBGMR) is seeking a geologist with experience in petroleum and subsurface studies, who will be responsible for multiple, concurrent projects relating to research, education, and outreach. This position will be located in the office of the NMBGMR in Socorro, NM, which is on the campus on New Mexico Tech (NMT). A majority of the petroleum geologist’s tasks will be performed in the office or in the onsite sample repository with occasional travel to the field. The primary data sets utilized by the NMBGMR petroleum geologist will include well logs, drill cuttings, cores, and 2D/3D seismic.
