Job Description
Indiana University East is seeking qualified part-time faculty members to teach courses across the natural sciences for our programs in Biology, Biochemistry, and Human Life Science, as well as for non-science majors. Additional responsibilities include teaching-related assessment. Most opportunities will be in person at the Richmond campus, but limited openings may be available for online (asynchronous) teaching.
At this time, the School is particularly interested in deepening the adjunct faculty pool with candidates who are qualified to teach in the following areas:
· Anatomy and Physiology
· Astronomy
· Introductory Biology
· General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry Laboratory
· Introductory Geology
· Introduction to Pharmacology
· Marine Biology
· Microbiology
· Neurobiology courses such as Biology of Mental Illness and Addictions
· Algebra-based Physics
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Teach courses in person and/or online.
- Manage the learning environment through keeping accurate records, submitting grades and other reports on time, and enforcing school and campus academic policies.
- Be available to respond to student queries outside of class via email within 48 hours.
- Demonstrate the ability to develop professional rapport with diverse populations within the university and community.

· An earned Master's degree or higher with 18+ graduate credit hours in the discipline of the course or a closely related discipline.
· Preparation/background for teaching the relevant course.
· A demonstrated strong desire to excel in teaching and provide ongoing support for student success, in and out of the classroom.
