The Department of Geography and Earth Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte is recruiting a one year, full-time, non-tenure track Lecturer with expertise broadly related to geology, earth and environmental sciences, meteorology, or physical geography. We welcome candidates whose experience in teaching and community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence.
The successful candidate will play an important role in the Earth Sciences component of our undergraduate programs and general education offerings. The successful candidate is expected to teach sections of Introductory Physical Geography (ESCI 1101), Geology (1200), or Meteorology (1102) as well as courses that contribute to the Department's undergraduate degree programs. Potential contributions to upper-level courses are also welcome.
Minimum Experience / Education:
UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned masters and/or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Required minimum qualifications are: 1) a Master's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Meteorology, or a related discipline by the time of appointment; 2) the ability to contribute to undergraduate curricula consistent with departmental needs; and 3) the ability to contribute to the Department's interdisciplinary teaching mission.
