The Department of Geosciences at Auburn University invites applications for a 9-month non-tenure track faculty position in Physical Geology/Dynamic Earth beginning January 2024. The position is renewable subject to annual review of performance, need for services, and available funding.
The department seeks an enthusiastic candidate who is committed to teaching excellence, actively engaging with undergraduate curriculum, and able to teach our undergraduate geology courses. The area of specialty is open, though the ideal candidate would demonstrate the ability to teach a combination of Dynamic Earth, Earth and Life Through Time, Field Camp, and other undergraduate Geology courses as determined by the candidate's expertise, experience, and departmental needs. The teaching load will be three courses each semester. Other related duties include coordinating and training GTAs for lab instruction, promoting Geology programs and recruiting majors, and participating in activities in conjunction with the Geosciences Department and College of Sciences and Mathematics. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
