Summary of Position: | The Physical Sciences Department seeks candidates to teach geology courses for the Fall 2022 semester and on a semester by semester basis. There is a need for instruction in introductory classes in geology (physical geology, historical geology), earth science (geology/meteorology/astronomy), and/or closely related areas.
This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis.
This posting is being used for face to face and/or online instruction. However, the candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. | |

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: | Demonstrated experience teaching in higher education.
Previous experience in teaching geology or earth science to undergraduates.
Previous experience in online education. | |
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: | Teach Geology courses as needed.
Provide up-to-date coursework and course-related materials.
Maintain a safe and engaging learning environment.
Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members.
Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include but are not limited to: keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (ex. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time).
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
