About UC Clermont
The Mathematics, Computers, Geology & Physics Department at UC Clermont invites applicants for our Mathematics Adjunct faculty general pool of candidates from which part-time faculty will be selected for the upcoming term (as needed).
UC Clermont College provides student-centered undergraduate education in an open-access, regional college environment. UC Clermont College has an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students and is located in Batavia, Ohio, thirty miles east of the University of Cincinnati?s downtown campus. Job Overview
On a part-time limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member?s primary academic functions include teaching, discovering, creating, and reporting knowledge to a diverse set of students.
Adjunct faculty must be able to teach mathematics courses ranging from the developmental (pre-college) level through calculus. Courses offered will be taught online in a synchronous (with weekday morning or afternoon meeting times) or asynchronous format. Adjunct faculty members will be expected to (1) use our course management system (Canvas) and any textbook-specific systems; (2) hold regular office hours to meet with students; and (3) participate in at least one professional development workshop per year.
Essential Functions
On a part-time basis, conduct and teach assigned undergraduate courses.
Using best practices, continually elevate student coursework.
Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities.
Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.
Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
A Master?s Degree (or higher) in: Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related field with 18+ graduate credits in Mathematics.
Ability to work and collaborate with individuals from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
Prior teaching experience is required.
Additional Qualifications Considered
Knowledge of issues in math education and classroom technology is ideal.
Experience teaching in a college setting is ideal.
